Stellite 6 is a cobalt-based alloy used for its exceptional resistance to wear, corrosion, and high temperatures.

Approximate composition:

Cobalt (Co): Base alloy
Chromium (Cr): 27–32%
Tungsten (W): 3–6%
Carbon (C): Approximately 1%
Key properties:

Hardness: Approximately 36 to 45 HRC
Hardness retention up to about 500°C
Excellent resistance to wear, cavitation, corrosion, and oxidation
Suitable for hardfacing
